From Operations Guidelines Section 5
NOTE: If you have any issues, please just communicate what is going on to us and your director! These rules exist to protect productions, but that doesn't mean at the expense of your mental and/or physical health.
When SLSA members commit to a position on a production, they are required to fulfill the time requirements and duties necessary for that position. SLSA members may drop out of a production up to two weeks before load-in. Please communicate with SLSA and production staff if you run into issues that affect your ability to work on a production.
If a SLSA member drops a production within 2 weeks of load-in or fails to fulfill their expected duties, they risk loss of membership for the semester. Additionally, if a SLSA member violates SLSA or College policies, the can risk loss of membership for the semester.
A catastrophic failure in a production is defined as:
a performance that is missing major elements of the show
a performance that was unable to proceed
a canceled performance
A dishonorable loss in membership will be issued if a catastrophic failure of a production is caused by a SLSA member's:
lack of effort
lack of communication
technical incompetence
blatant disregard for SLSA and College safety protocol
A dishonorable loss in membership will prohibit you from working on any future SLSA productions for the rest of your time at Oberlin College. Note that a member will never lose their membership due to technical problems outside of their control.
